Beware of Doubt

At the Healing Rooms we have a real sense that God is on the move and He wants to take us with Him. Jesus came to set the captive free - He wants us to be free, healed, saved and redeemed far more than we do ourselves because He paid a very high price for our freedom!

God only sows GOOD seed. The Bible tells us "Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father." (James 1:17).

We begin each day's ministry at the Healing Rooms expecting to see miracles. "Will we see some miracles today?" is often how we begin the day in prayer.

However several times recently we've seen people receive prayer at the Healing Rooms and apparently become worse the day after! We had a lady come for prayer for high blood pressure and reported back later that the day after she felt absolutely terrible. She rang back a week later to tell us that she had been to the doctor again and her blood pressure had come down 20 points and the doctor was going to postpone putting her on medication! Praise God.

You see if we pray a few times and nothing seems to change and we give up who wins? The sickness wins and the enemy of our souls - satan wins.

Remember the parable of sower - some seed fell onto the path, some onto rocky soil, some into thorny plants and was choked, some seed fell into good soil.

Whether we're praying for healing or in other areas of life - time and again I believe we let the seed either be stolen, choked or let it die in the heat of the next challenge.

Let me illustrate in the area of healing but the same applies across the spectrum of life. We agreed earlier God only plants good seed. So if we pray for healing then we must believe that He's planting seeds of healing in us.

Luke 11:11 says; "which of you fathers, if your son asks for fish will give him a snake instead?"

(I'm assuming of course here that we all understand and believe it is God's very nature and will to heal - It is He who chooses the how and when not us.)

So we receive prayer and the symptoms lessen or even vanish - then we wake up the next morning and they've returned. What seeds are we now looking at?

Seeds of doubt or fear perhaps? Who planted them? Who's the author of fear and doubt? None other than satan himself!

Matthew 15:13 says EVERY plant not planted by my Heavenly Father will be rooted out. So if the seed has not been planted by God we can ask Him to root it out!

Deception is the one plan satan has used since the Garden of Eden.

IF he (satan) CAN DECEIVE AND WE BELIEVE THEN WE WON'T RECEIVE.

Why? Because fear is the neutraliser of faith. Anyone who comes to God must believe He exists and that He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Heb 11:6

We can tell what seed has been sown by the fruit that grows from that seed. Is the fruit doubt, worry, fear, bitterness, anger, resentment, jealousy, etc? What's the seed and who planted it? WE may have even planted it or a wellmeaning friend may have planted it by the words we speak.

The law of seed time and harvest was established after the flood - Gen 8:22 "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night, shall not cease."

So the universal principle of sowing and reaping applies here.

You see we allow ourselves to be robbed of the harvest not only of healing but also of fruitfulness in other areas of our lives by allowing doubt to creep in which gives birth to fear, faith dies and the rest is history. That's what it really is - robbery.

God does have a good plan and a good path for us to walk in but just as we saw above about the enemy getting us deceived the opposite is just as true.

IF WE CAN CONCEIVE AND BELIEVE WE WILL RECEIVE.

God is able to do exceedingly abundant above all we ask or think. (Eph 3:20) So if we can conceive (get a thought of and believe for) our healing, our breakthrough, restored marriage or whatever then God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above that thought!

Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for THE VERY EVIDENCE of things not yet seen.

Jesus said that we only need faith the size of a mustard seed to see mountains in our lives moved - what's the mountain in your life today? Perhaps it's financial, health, or conflict in relationships - whatever it is let me encourage you again today to sow some seeds of faith into that area. We reap what we sow.

You see if our thinking is "this is the best my life will ever be" then guess what? - this is the best your life is ever going to be! Why? Because we frame our world with our words - spoken or unspoken.

We need to give God something to work with. Give Him a mustard seed size of faith and watch Him move mountains in your life.

Rom 12:3 says that we've each been given a measure of faith - so let's give Him at least that measure with which to work.

What you feed grows what you starve dies - it's that simple.

With one another in our marriages - if you can't ever see your marriage ever becoming more fruitful than it is right now, guess what it never will be because once again we frame our world with our words!

Listen to yourself and you'll see - if we're not encouraging we're discouraging! Ask yourself; "Am I speaking life or death into my relationships?" It's one or the other. We're either building up or tearing down.

Don't let yourself be robbed of all that God has in store for you by letting the seeds of doubt take root in your life. We walk by faith and not by sight and in the case of physical healing it sometimes takes a while for our physical bodies to 'catch up' with the Truth of God's Word.

I am not talking about denial - denying the symptoms are there but I am saying that we need to guard against doubt and fear neutralising our faith therefore robbing us of that which is legally ours! Jesus paid the ultimate price to pay for our salvation and our healing to give us life and life more abundant!
