The International Association of Healing Rooms was birthed in 1999 out of the ministry of John G. Lake who in the early 1900's was used powerfully by God to bring healing to literally thousands of people across the globe but more specifically in Spokane in Washington USA. The John G. Lake Healing Rooms in Spokane Washington, over a five-year period from 1915, had over 100,000 medically documented healings and it was known as the 'healthiest city in the United States.' John G. Lake had a vision to see the Healing Rooms operating all over the world however he passed away before that dream could be realised. Lake continued his ministry in North America until his death in 1935.

Nearly 70 years later after prayer and fasting, Cal Pierce a "bored" church leader, preparing for retirement, was spoken to by God and told "to re-dig the well of healing that existed in the days of John G. Lake." "In May of 1999 Cal Pierce gathered over 100 intercessors from all parts of Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Utah to 're-dig' this healing well. God has said there is a time to pray and a time to move. If you want to walk on water you must get out of the boat. God is calling forth the water walkers." In order to accomplish this they began training a ministry team in June of that year and on 22nd July 1999 the Healing Rooms of Spokane Washington were re-opened at the exact same location as they operated under John G. Lake 70 years earlier.

Since that time Healing Rooms have spread across the USA and other countries with currently close to 1000 separate Healing Rooms in 44 nations around the world.

Healing Rooms opened in 2003 in both Brisbane and Dural and since then several others have opened throughout the country. Roslynne & I felt a call to this ministry during the latter part of 2003 and the Lord spoke clearly, calling us out of full time pastoral ministry at our church in Canberra Australia, Vision Christian Fellowship (VCF) to establish Healing Rooms in Canberra and to spread the ministry throughout the nation of Australia under His guidance. He confirmed this with many prophetic words and in several other ways.

We truly believe this ministry is part of God's plan to assist in bringing unity to the church in our city and also to see many 'unchurched' people come into the Kingdom of God. There's great power in unity. "One will put one thousand to flight, two ten thousand" (Deut 32:30).

Another wonderful aspect of Healing Rooms ministry is that it is a 'whole-body' ministry. Many will come from several different churches to facilitate healing to the community. The Holy Spirit doesn't have to 'bounce off' denominational barriers in order to get the work done. Where there is unity the Lord COMMANDS a blessing. (Ps 133:3)

Capital Healing Rooms (CHR) was opened on 19th June, 2004 on a cold and wet winter morning. Since that time we have had hundreds of visitors to the Healing Rooms. Many have testified to the presence of God they feel as they enter the Healing Rooms. One lady said a few weeks before Christmas "I'm not sure how I came to get here. I came to Fyshwick to drop something off at a business and the next thing I knew I was in your offices". That lady received powerful deliverance as the Holy Spirit ministered to her.

The Lord has met all our needs every step of the way and we are convinced that the best is yet to come. Our vision is to make God famous in the nation's capital so that all will know that Jesus is alive and well and healing today just as He has always done. We currently have 38 people from 11 churches on our team and conduct regular training courses for new team members.
