God’s great faithfulness

Repeatedly throughout Scripture we are reminded of God’s faithfulness.  I want to encourage you with some thoughts from Psa 145 this month.

Verse 3: - “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.” (NIV). The New King James version puts it this way “…His greatness is unsearchable.”  This is truly a magnificent truth to ponder. 

I believe we should always begin from a place of honouring the Lord before we present our requests, petitions and complaints to Him.  The King of all glory and sustainer of life deserves all honour, glory and praise.

Verses 8 and 9 give us this wonderful assurance. “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in love. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made” (NIV).  May I remind you today.  He has made you therefore you qualify for His compassion!

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The LORD upholds (sustains, supports, refreshes and revives) all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down (through sickness, disease or poverty)” vv13-14.

His kingdom IS an everlasting Kingdom and His dominion or rule will endure forever.  What reassurance we, as His beloved children have in an ever-changing world in which hardly anything endures.   

“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The Lord is near to ALL who call on Him, to ALL who call on him in truth” vv17-19 NIV emphasis added.

We have a loving Father who only has the best for us.  He is for us and not against us contrary to what ‘legalistic religion’ may have us believe.  He is our source of life, and we must continue to look to Him for our needs and the wisdom required to navigate life in these troubled and rapidly changing times.

He IS faithful to His Word, and faithful to the end (of time).  May I encourage you to lean into His great faithfulness afresh today.  NOTHING takes Him by surprise or off guard.  He knows the end from the beginning and is outworking His perfect plan for each of our lives.
