Nothing is too hard for God

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” Jer 32:27

This verse reminds us that for our God NOTHING is impossible.  There are two mentions of this phrase in Scripture.  We find the first in Gen 18:14 when the three heavenly visitors appeared to Abraham.  Commentators believe two of them were most likely angels and the third the Lord himself given the way Abraham welcomed them and assumed the posture of a servant.

God had told Abraham he would have a son through Sarah even though they were both well past childbearing age.  Abraham fell on his face and laughed at this pronouncement.  (Gen 17:17).  The word here for laughed in the Hebrew means to mock.  Sarah did the same thing when the Lord re-iterated she would have a child within the next year.  It is fascinating to note notwithstanding Sarah (and Abraham) mocking God at this time, Sarah is written up as a woman of great faith and is given a place in the ‘hall of faith’ chapter (Heb 11:11) God ‘rewrote’ her history.

You see nothing is too hard for God.  May I remind you today He brought water out of the rock to revive His people on their way out of Egypt.  He fed them for 40 years with manna and provided quail in such quantity it would come out of their nostrils! (Numb 11:19-20). That’s not a good picture!  He parted the Red Sea to allow His people to walk through on dry ground (not trudging through mud), drowned all the pursuing Egyptians, owns the cattle on a thousand hills, raised the dead and knows each star by name just to name a few of His miracles. He continues to expand the universe so the astro physicists tell us. So why do our problems seem too big for Him or why do we perhaps think He’s too busy to care?

Clearly, they’re not too big and clearly, He DOES care.  Luke 12:28 teaches us “If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you…”  In other words, He will provide for our needs.  Moreover, His Word declares repeatedly the promise of protection, viz Psa 34, Psa 121 and many more!

Finally, let me encourage you with the following:- “If God is for you who can be against you;” (Rom 8:31) “greater is He who is in you than anything in the world” (1 John 4:4); nothing can separate you from the love of God” (Rom 8:39); “He will supply all your needs according to HIS riches in glory” (Phil 4:19); “the God of peace will guard your heart and mind” (Phil 4:7).

NOTHING is too hard for God, He cares for you, knows your heart and only has the best for you – Hallelujah!
